How to Listen: Apathetically.
I'm going to see a documentary on Creation Records tonight and in honour of that, here's a song by one of my favourite Creation Records' discoverees: The Jesus and Mary Chain. No surprise that this song was huge hit for them- it is the perfect combination of noisy guitar and soft, dreamy vocals. The grit of this genre would soon filter it's way to America and form the basis for grunge and inspire bands like Pearl Jam and Nirvana. If you have any love or respect for those bands, it is your duty to start digging The Jesus and Mary Chain and pay homage to Creation Records for making this genre a success.
