Laid Fucking Back- Lilacs & Champagne

Sounds Like: The soundtrack to a 1970's cult film.
When to Listen: At the beach; on a patio on a very hot day.

I don't know about the rest of the world, but summer in Vancouver this year is a total failure. It rained for almost all of June, it teased us with two weeks of sun in July, then started raining again. Now it's the end of July, the weather is back to being nice but it feels like summer has blow by faster than you can say "tan lines." And I for one am not okay with it. Summer, you need to straight-up slow down. Lilacs & Champagne is the perfect soundtrack for a hot summer day. I picture sitting on the beach on a day so hot that everything you look at has that blurry effect when I listen to this album. I don't even know what to term this genre. It's some kind of hybrid of 1970's psych and avant-techno. Either way, I feel like Jim Morrison would dig it. There is no denying that Laid Fucking Back seems slow down everything around you. I dare you not to get dreary eyed while listening to this song. So head to the beach, throw on this song and make summer last a little bit longer.

Can you dig it?
