Smokestack Lightning- The Yardbirds

Sounds Like: The Who, The Kinks, Led Zeppelin

Time for a little musical education:
The Yardbirds are a 60's British rock group that is responsible for starting the careers of Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck and more. They recorded a few notable singles that you may have heard such as Over, Under, Sideways, Down and For Your Love, but are more well-known for their numerous covers of blues songs. This song in particular was originally performed by Chess Records' signee, Howlin' Wolf.  This song probably deserves the title of "Most Covered Song in Music History" having been covered by various artists since it's release in 1956 including The Who, The Animals, The Wailers, John Lee Hooker and Aerosmith (just to name a few). The Yardbirds version is a particular favourite of mine. Like I''ve said before, "Who doesn't love a supergroup?!"

Can you dig it?
